Despite temperatures climbing into the 90s, this year’s Chaska Area Fishing With Friends Veterans Fishing Day was a wonderful success.
To help everyone stay comfortable, the event began earlier in the morning, giving veterans, their families, and volunteers the opportunity to enjoy a great day on the water before the summer heat arrived.

Flags & Honor of Minnesota was honored to support the event by preparing and serving lunch for approximately 60 attendees, including about 30 veterans. Throughout the morning, our volunteers enjoyed spending time with participants, sharing conversations, serving meals, and helping create a welcoming atmosphere for everyone.

Of course, the fishing was a highlight of the day. The top angler reeled in an impressive 27 fish! While many of the catches were sunfish, every fish brought another reason to smile and added to the friendly competition.

We are grateful to Chaska Area Fishing With Friends for inviting us to join this annual tradition. Events like these remind us that supporting veterans takes many forms. Sometimes it’s lending a hand, sharing a meal, or simply spending time together with people who understand the value of service and community.

A special thank you goes to every Flags & Honor volunteer whose time, generosity, and hard work made the day possible. Your dedication helps us continue our mission of serving those who have served us.
We look forward to participating again next year.
